Oh Grow Up

As a mom, I feel like I am constantly nibbling my girls' leftovers and rarely taking time to make my own grown-up food.  I HATE wasting food and refuse to throw anything away if at all possible.

This morning, though, I decided to make my very own bowl of oatmeal.  I didn't have to do the Goldilocks method to see if Coralyn's bowl had too many berries or if Kellah's bowl was dowsed in honey and too sweet or if Kyiah's bowl was covered in too much cinnamon for my liking.  Instead, I made my very OWN bowl, grown-up style.

I started like I always do when making oatmeal for my girls, but then I added agave nectar, a dash of cinnamon, a handful of almonds, some blueberries and raspberries, and the topped it all off with a scoop of Creamy Vanilla ProFIT protein powder.  Oh man, was this the best bowl of oatmeal ever!

Not only did it taste good, it was good for me!  Packed with nutrients, antioxidants, fiber, and protein.  After a good lifting workout this morning I needed to refuel, and this was the perfect way to feed my body, and in a way, my soul too!

If you're on the hunt for a grown-up bowl of oatmeal, this hits the spot!  I'm ready for the full day ahead as we start off by heading to the park for a play group.  Plenty of laundry and dishes and other chores will be waiting for me when we get back. I also need to get our homeschooling in, prep for our service project and movie night for our kids' class at church tonight, and get ready for an event I am doing this weekend.  This may be the only "real" meal I eat all day, so I'm glad it was a GOOD one!

I'm always up for trying NEW foods, so if YOU have a favorite "grown-up" breakfast you enjoy, feel free to share your recipe with me!  Bonus if it's fast and easy since I'm a busy mom of 4!
