One Jar at a Time

You've heard the phrase, "Change the world one life at a time."
Well, today, I am praying people will support our fundraiser to send Lawrence to Ethiopia and help change the world "one JAR at a time."

I've put together 4 different "in a jar" goodies that would make perfect gifts OR an excellent snack to enjoy yourself.

I love baking, and the girls got to help me make everything.  So, not only did we make powerballs, hot cocoa mix, and pumpkin granola, but even better, we created some wonderful memories!  I hope they look back on their childhood and remember the fun we had in the kitchen together.  I also pray they pass this tradition on to THEIR children once they are mothers themselves.

As we poured the ingredients in the bowls and mixed everything together, we talked about how we are helping the people all the way over in Ethiopia.  I long for them to realize this life is about so much more than playing games, learning to read, watching TV, exploring outside, or cleaning up messes.  I want to be intentional about teaching them about the ULTIMATE purpose of life and using the time we are given here on earth to share the love of God with as many people as possible.  That may mean selling baked goods to raise money for Daddy to go on a missions trip to Ethiopia, or it may mean what we did last night at church with our kids' class.  We put together snack bags to have in our cars, ready to hand them out to anyone we see in need.  Practical, tangible ways for these KIDS to take part in changing the world...one snack bag, one jar at at time.

Here's the deal, if I want my girls to change the world, I have to SHOW them how.  I can't just TELL them to do it.  One of my biggest fears is getting to the end of my life and realizing I wasted my time, that I let fear hold me back from doing something God had for me, that I let busyness keep me from living with purpose, that I let insecurities sideline me from a life of passion.

As I stir the granola and pour it into the jars, I pray lives ARE changed.  If you would like to join us on this simple mission to love God and love others, please let me know!

And if you have any opportunities for us to get involved in a way YOU are changing YOUR world, let us know about that too. We would love to partner with you and help make a greater impact, together!
